We are as proud as new parents this afternoon as we have just launched the "new look" on the TattooApparel.com web site. The design has been months in the making and we are thrilled with it.

For our regular customers, no worries, the same products (plus new ones), same staff and same great service - we have just updated the design of the web site for an edgier look and have reworked our category navigation to make it easier to find things. Edgy New Dresses from Los Angeles Fashion Design Houses

Over the past year or so when visiting big name Department Stores we have noticed a decline in the quality of the women's apparel from the big name brand companies. This may be caused by these big name brands trying to cut corners to try to deal with the declining economy while their production costs have risen. Something had to give somewhere and it seems to be the quality of the designs, fabric and styles that has suffered when it comes to these big name brands.


We recently decided to start carrying more women's fashions. To that end we decided to use our contacts in the Los Angeles Fashion District to find high quality items from smaller local design houses. Design Houses that target high end boutiques do not have the same overhead as the big manufacturers who try to target everyone and manufacture in mass - so this results in their being able to in many cases have better designs, use higher quality fabrics and come up with garments that are much nicer than most of what you see in big chain stores while keeping great price points. We are lucky in that TattooApparel.com and Perpetual Vogue are owned by a gal whose spouse actually runs a fabric manufacturing plant in Los Angeles and he can tell us which design houses use quality fabrics so we know where to go for great quality items.


We recently received in several shipments from these small Los Angeles Fashion Houses and are thrilled with the edgy designs and superior quality. The new dresses and tunics have been selling very well in our retail store where our customers demand unique designs and high quality. They are loving the very reasonable prices for these new items. Pin Ups and Rockers Photo Shoot for TattooApparel.com

When you are in the retail fashion industry photo shoots are something that have to be done for online sales listings and overall marketing. Those who are not in the industry tend to think that fashion shoots are glamorous and easy. Anyone who is actually in the industry will tell you that photo shoots are a lot of work and many retailers dread them.

We find that the way to make fashion shoots enjoyable is to work with people you enjoy being around and like anything else you need a plan. We did a shoot last Sunday for the Perpetual Vogue Store, TattooApparel.com and PerpetualVogue.com and it was nothing short of fabulous. We are calling it our "Rockers Meet Pin Ups" Shoot as some of the models we used were Pin Up Models and some of our male models were the guys from the up and coming Los Angeles Rock Band, Black Star Hollow. TattooApparel.com is in the process of a site redesign so we planned lots of lifestyle type shots for future use on the new site design. To bring our plans to fruition we worked with our favorite photographers, the team from Painted Pinups and also contacted the local classic car club, American StreetRodders and a local chopper designer to bring us some cool cars and hot bikes for the shoot.










We did our standard product shots in our warehouse but added in some other fun scenario shots for specific products such as a shot with two of our lovely models, Briana and Kristabel acting out the scene from the back of our Exclusive Lucky 13/Perpetual Vogue Tattoo Girls T Shirt and some shots with the girls dressed just like the stag party entertainers on our Lucky 13 Stag Party shirt - I think our male model, West really enjoyed the stag party shots!

















We like using guys in Rock Bands as models because they really fit our customer demographic and tend to be naturals at posing as they are accustomed to performing. We had a great time with Brian, Jack and Jackie of Black Star Hollow. We recommend that everyone check them out on MySpace. Their music is great and we are very excited about their soon to be released EP.

















For this project we did lots of location shots that came out great. We shot lots of photos inside of the the garage at White Automotive in La Habra. White Automotive is located right next to the Perpetual Vogue Store on Whittier Boulevard in La Habra and the garage has a great retro look...and by the way if you are in the area and need auto service they do great work. We have our cars serviced there and have always been very pleased with the work. We also took some photos at Perpetual Vogue's other neighbor, Magnolia Country Store to get some great urban looking shots of the models in front of retro looking Airstream Trailers. Magnolia is a treasure trove of interesting things for anyone into retro collectibles.

Adam Lambert American Idol Finalists again wears Rocker Jewelry

On last nights American Idol show finalist Adam Lambert again wore the Rocker Jewelry pendant from RockerJewelry.com that his fans had sent him the week before. Adam must really like this piece to wear it two weeks in a row. It is one of our favorite pendants and it really fits Adam's style to a T. PerpetualVogue.com and TattooApparel.com have both added a Deal of the Day category to their web sites. The Special Deals just went live this afternoon. The deals will change periodically - sometimes truly only lasting a day and sometimes lasting for several. Customers can sign up to receive email newsletter alerts when a new item becomes the deal of the day or they can just check the home page of the web sites for the link to the current deal.

Rock of Ages goes to Broadway!

We heard recently from one of our favorite guitarists, Joel Hoekstra of Night Ranger that the off - Broadway Show, Rock of Ages was on its way to Broadway. The show opens on Broadway in less than a week. We are excited for Joel and the rest of the cast (which includes Constantine of American Idol fame) to see this show hit Broadway. Rock of Ages features Rock Music from the 80's including songs from Nightranger, Journey, Styx and Bon Jovi.

In a message we received from Joel this morning he mentioned that he wears one of the Rocker Jewelry pendants ( one with a cobra on it ) that he purchased from RockerJewelry.com while on stage in the show.
