Hip Hop Zombies

An oldie but a goodie...Aesop Rock's video for "Coffee," yet MORE evidence Aesop Rock's pretty much unfuckwitable...from the album "None Shall Pass."

Zombie American: Glen's Story

This is a fantastic short film I just discovered on FearNet. I think it is a couple of years old, but it is still pretty great. Check out the Zombie American website, too.

Night of the Creeps

Night of the Creeps, brought to you in the year 1986 by the guy who brought us all The Monster Squad, Mr. Fred Dekker. I don't know how this one slipped under my radar for so long, but goddamn it is great.

The plot is very similar to that of Slither, which I also love, but Night of the Creeps did it first, so kudos to the notion of outer space slugs turning us all into the walking dead. Killer special effects, tons of gore, surprisingly funny writing, and one of the most weird-ass openings to any movie I have seen yet. Only in the 80's. Do yourself a favor: Watch it. Now.

Superman vs Solomon Grundy

Solomon Grundy is a zombie supervillain from DC comics. He's the reanimated corpse of a 19th century merchant and started out as a Green Lantern villain, but he's better known as a member of the Legion of Doom. Check out this clip from the Justice League cartoon where Grundy throws down with Superman:

Zombies Ate My Neighbors!

Zombies ate my neighbors was a pretty sweet game. Released by LucasArts in '93, the objective was to run around Suburbia and shoot all manner of crazy shit, including lots and lots of zombies, while you collected stuff and rescued regular humans.

Youtube user Gia Chan did a speed run of the entire game, if you missed it on Sega and Super Nintendo. The playlist is here.

Check out levels 1-8 rightchere:

Ravenous

Technically, Ravenous is not a zombie movie, it's about the Wendigo, but I think it qualifies under the same rules as 28 Days/Weeks Later. This movie is awesome, especially the Damon Albarn/Michael Nyman soundtrack. Definitely worth a shot, I think you can still find it in the Best Buy $5 bin.

Diary of the Dead

George Romero's newest project, a first person zombie invasion a-la Rec/Quarentine. It had a limited release earlier this year, no word on when it'll be getting a wide one. Reviews are mixed, but I don't think that's gonna stop anyone who's reading a zombie blog from going to see the new Romero flick.

Zombie vs Shark

The infamous fight from Lucio Fulci's Zombi 2, which is a sort-of sequel to George Romero's Dawn of the Dead (even though they have nothing to do with each other, aside from Dawn of the Dead's title in Italy being Zombi.)

Aim High

This is a short film I worked on in an effects class at MCAD. I helped create and apply the main zombie's makeup, and I made the front of the fireplace. Baller.
